down goes Frazier
Keeper question. 12 team h2h roto league I have a dilemma when it comes down to selecting my last two keepers. I have Rendon, Donaldson and Frazier. Three top five 3rd basemen and we only start one without any DH or corner infield position. Problem is Rendon does not qualify at 2nd base as we use a ...

I just wanted to drop a thank you to the staff for thier excellent work again this season. I was not as active as I usually am on the forums, but that did not stop me from having another dominant season in two league. Just won my big money league Sunday. Thank you. And I am in the semi-finals of ano...

First look at keepers
I can't beleive it is already time for baseball. Last year I made a run for the title and came up just short right at the end. I traded away a few picks that I will try and get back before the draft by trading my excess keepers. I ended the season with a load of quality pitchers and I am having diff...

I replied but not sure how objective I was as I have him as a keeper in two leagues. I am hoping to a return to form and a little attitude from Reyes after a wasted season last year.

Re: Need quick help on trade offer
I'm from Cleveland and I won't touch Hafner. But I'm not the one in need of power. If Hafner is the only power available then you almost have to do it. If you don't need the steals then it is almost a waste to keep Podsednik. You only need to win the category by one steal.

Your pitching is not that bad that you should be contemplating dumping a first round talent for a pitcher and a guy whose hot streak is over. Wait it out and try and play the matchups after Billingsly, Beckett, Lowe.

Then I would either drop Sanchez or just keep him on the DL if you can. But would definitely drop Owings to get Volquez off the DL.

I would be willing to dump Rasmus. Your starting OF are more than solid, so the question becomes, if you are trying to build SP depth to trade later, why so many OF's?

Re: Catcher advice - Navarro or Saltalamacchia?
It depends on what you need. In head to head leagues, that what it is all about. Saltalamacchia will end the year with more hr's, a lower avg and less ab's. I like his home park, it is kind of hard to pass up. But from a qucik look at your team, it looks like you could use a home run hitter. But wha...

Putting aside those five stolen bases in one game, how good can he or will he be? I was reading about him somewhere else and didn't realize what a big boy he is, 6-4, 175. Tall and skinny at this point, but as he matures, I assume the power will come. Does he compare to Alex Rios and/or Corey Hart d...

Pretty strong team. Obviously your middle infield is a little week. Trade from a strength or excess and fix your weeknesses at some point during the season. An excess does you no good in a 5x5 league.

Both hitting and pitching seems pretty strong. Might be chasing steals at some point. Not much depth pitching wise but that is what free agents are for.

Re: 5x5 roto league, 4 year keeper...
Just looking at your team quickly, it is really hard to tell without knowing how many teams in the league. It could be a great team if it is a 20 team league and not so good if it is a 10 team league. Putting that aside, you have quite a few average anchors in Howard, Reynolds, McLouth, Pena and Har...

Keeper League Trade Theory Question
The two situations I was thinking about are before keepers are locked in before a draft and during the season nearing the trade deadline. Is there such thing as a bad trade? For the first situation, you know your keepers, but still have tradable commodities on your team. You can’t upgrade by trading...

Re: Keeper Help
Keeping Martin and Upton leave you only $31. ($50-$12-$7=$31) Anyways, forget Furcal and keep Haren, Gallardo, Doumit, and Jh. Peralta. 50-12 (Martin) = 38 38-7 (Upton) = 31 31-16 (Haren) = 15 15-5 (Gallardo) = 10 10-4 (Doumit) = 6 6-4 (Peralta) = 2 Rather have a second tier catcher with upside than...

Re: How do your keeper leagues handle waiver wire pickups?
Not to keep hammering the point, but I was in a friend's keeper football league last year. Had a real bad draft. Looked at the rules and saw that free agents are last round keepers. I started dumping all my early round picks for players on other teams that were free agent pick ups. For 2009 season, ...

Re: How do your keeper leagues handle waiver wire pickups?
I would make their last draft pick. So if someone was able to pick up free agents like Cliff Lee or Carlos Quentin, they should be last round picks? Isn't that rewarding bad drafting? For a points league, why not figure out where they feel last year compared to all players. And then base the pick t...

Hard question to answer. It depends on who in your league needs pitching or who favors Joba or if you have any Yankee homer in your league. Some random names that you might be able to trade him for (straight up): Fuentes, Brian RP ANA Crawford, Carl LF TB Loney, James 1B LA Ramirez, Alexei 2B CHW Ma...

I like HAlladay, but his lack of strikeout and the price would make me run to make this deal. That is if you are the one trading for Pence. Beside, I think this is the year that Pence starts to break through.

Getting Youkilis in the deal at that price is great , but Huff is so inconsistant. And getting rid of a stud like Sizemore is hard to do. If you have a plan to replace all those stolen bases, then make the deal.
