players who start out on the IL

What's your philosophy on drafting players who will be on the IL for 2 or more months to start out the season in an Only keeper league? I'm debating the merits of going after Altuve or Story. I drafted Salvy for $1 and flipped him in a trade later in the year with mixed results. I saw in LABR AL you drafted Montas but I figure he's fairly easy to replace for a few months. Altuve will take more than a few $$ to land.

And do you steer clear of injury prone players such as deGrom, Rodon, Trout, Jimenez, etc? Or if the price is low enough???

LABR has a quirky rule where anyone drafted or picked up via FAAB has to stay in the active lineup so long as they are active in MLB. You can release an active player, but you cannot reserve him unless he is hurt or sent to the minors.

However, reserves can be jumped up and down from active to reserve.

Montas clears a spot for me to stream from my reserve, hence the heavy pitcher lean in reserve.

In general I personally avoid injured players, unless I am 100% sure it's a retool year.
