Rutschman up.....

#1 Post by CubFan »

Our 12 team AL only 5x5 H2H keeper league uses just 1 catcher. Also use OBP. Stassi is my catcher. At first glance one would think Rutschman is an obvious upgrade. But am wondering if he really is. He'll cost a good chunk of FAAB (likely 10-20 out of 100), Orioles have an anemic offense and he'll likely have the typical rookie growing pains. Only 12 games at AAA seems like he could easily struggle out of the gate......or will he buck that? Stassi is my only exposure to the Angels and the projections I've seen have the two of them producing similar #s except Rutschman should have a higher OBP. Am I overthinking this and Rutschman will really be a big upgrade over Stassi?

Crystal ball question, probably best to approach in a practical sense.

Am I OK with Stassi or do I need an upgrade behind the plate?

FWIW -- Baltimore's top of the lineup isn't horrible, so if Rutschman is slotted in the top-5, the context isn't bad.
