Sano worth flyer for this year....2023?

#1 Post by CubFan »

Sano got dropped last week in my 12 team AL only 5x5 H2H keeper league. As you know he's out due to surgery for a meniscus tear. There's no news on his return. Had one of those several years back. About 3 months to full recovery but I'm no pro athlete. He's under contract with the Twins through 2023. I'm guessing he could return in August but that's just a wag. I could make room for him on my 4 man bench. Probably Worth throwing a $2 bid on him and stashing? Maybe he'd be useful as trade bait to a rebuilding team.

While I've got your ear what would you do with an $18 Haniger who is out till likely early July? Drop or hold and hope? Not much on the waiver wire to replace him.

Given, every league is contextual, but my approach is limiting stashes as I want every available spot available to help bully counting stats in this limited offense environment. In fact, I've dropped both Sano and Haniger, but they were mixed leagues with no keeper implications. This isn't player evaluation, but one's philosophy.
