Dropping Snell on a 6x6 Kershaw Team

Lord Zola,

I drafted Kershaw third overall and aimed to do everything I could to not ruin it... until Blake Snell fell a few rounds and I couldn't help myself. I'm now rethinking the move. The league is 6x6 with holds and Brad Hand is hanging out there on the wire. Would you consider dropping Snell for Hand and his elite ratios given the fact that I'll get a few holds?

My other SP's are Kershaw, Lester, Nola, Moore, Nova, Gsellman.

Thanks!

FWIW - not sure I'd go Kershaw in 6x6 with holds -- that said, Hand or another holds specialist makes sense. You can chase wins and whiffs later if necessary.

I forgot to mention it is QS, which I think swings it back a bit for Kershaw... thanks for the insight!

No, actually even less of a reason to go Kershaw. Kershaw's strength is ratios, which is devalued in 6x6. The 6th category favors relievers, even further softening his impact.

I hear you on Kershaw. I really appreciate the feedback.

Do you mind explaining why QS would make it even less of a reason to go Kershaw? Relievers aren't getting QS & seems to me that five and dive is fairly typical these days.

Thanks again.

I'd need to run the numbers, so I could be wrong, but intuitively, Kershaw's advantage in wins over other starters is greater than his advantage in QS since there will be more QS. I suppose you could argue QS are more stable and you KNOW Kershaw will lead the pack while wins can be more fluky. Seems to me if things go chalk, Kershaw's wins are a greater percentage of overall wins than his QS would be to the total of QS.
