Smoak or G.Beckham?

#1 Post by RandyKutcherHair »

I have my minor league draft coming up and need to decide who to take Smoak or G.Beckham. How much do you guys consider position scarcity when drafting minor league players? Who would you rather have going forward and why?

Prospecting is tough enough -- I'd go with the guy I like best, which for me is Smoak.

I am really torn between the two. G.Beckham has displayed great power for the middle infield and Smoak is a stud bat who will play in a hitters park. Obviously the Rangers will promote Smoak when they think he is ready; but does anyone think having Chris Davis at 1b will impede Smoak in any way?

Also, how do MB'ers compare Hosmer to Smoak?

Davis future is at DH.
