Aaron Hicks - Hot FA?

#1 Post by rsvp_nj »

Aaron Hicks is available in my league and I am starting to believe what I've been reading. Is he a worthy addition over either:

Manny Machado
Cameron Maybin
Domonic Brown

I felt the same way about Brown two weeks ago that I feel about Hicks today, so it's no time to give up on that dream. What about Maybin? Is Hicks a better speculative bet?

I listed Machado here even though he's not an outfielder, but would be my lowest rated position player that I have as a spare part. This is a restricted keeper league ( 8 keeps, +$5 per, 3 year max) Opinions appreciated. Thanks.

so many questions not sure where to start

Machado - most stable of the four and highest upside (but maybe not the best for this year but keeper value is strong)

Dom Brown - terrific spring and Phillies have finally been able to alter his swing. Better power than others

Hicks - has tremendous talent - the question is whether he is really ready or whether they rushed him so good but know there is some downside there

Maybin - least attractive of this group for me - he will steal a lot of bases but BA is a killer

In what type of league? What's the scoring? How many teams?
These are my views based on my own opinions and observations - your mileage may vary.
