Background first-
12 tm, HTH: 5x5: R, HR, RBI, SB, OBP and QS, K, S, WHIP, ERA.
C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UT, UT and 5 SP, 3 RP. 7 bench, 3 DL and daily transactions.
Our league was very split down the middle as some owners understand the benefits of streaming, while others would argue it is counting cards....
So myself and the two other co-commissioners decided to implement an allowed 8 MAX pitcher STARTS weekly which was pretty awesome but pretty time consuming. In the HTH format, each owner would basically throw there best 6-7 pitchers each week up against there opponent and letting the dust settle. Now there is no longer seen a team win with 127.1 innings in a week vs someone with 58 innings....
So, could I translate this to the pitcher CVRC?
Also, I'm assuming k/9 is very important since you can't win K's just throwing out more pitchers, but I'm really looking to get some unbiased opinions on strategy for pitching in this format for when the draft comes. So please comment or provide any thoughts/angles/advice/suggestions/improvements to this format.
Much obliged.

Re: pitching advice and translating to pitcher CVRC
Streaming is going to be the topic of an essay later in the drafting season.
My concept is going to be there are some pitchers you will only use if they are at home, so why bother factoring their road starts into the valuation/ranking?
I'm not sure how this translated to the CVRC, I suppose you could do this for everybody and see where they rank according to just home starts - I'll think about that.
But, intuitively, a back end starter on the Padres, Mariners, Giants etc should be bumped UP your rankings since you're only going to use their good stuff.
As for K/9, unless you have an innings cap, it is still K you want to look at. With a cap on starts, it is K's.

Was on another site and was reading an article about streaming and the author suggested something that to me was really smart and really simple. He googles the vegas odds for the coming weeks games and compares it to his choices for streaming. Pretty smart considering all the variables that vegas looks at it's definately something I'll be looking at this year and it will be just another tool to use when deciding on pitching match ups and streaming options.

The problem is the ultimate determinant in odds is the team winning - not the pitcher doing well. There is ample crossover that there will be a positive correlation, but there is also some stuff I would prefer to filter out and just focus on the pitcher.Black Sox wrote:Was on another site and was reading an article about streaming and the author suggested something that to me was really smart and really simple. The hidden aspect of this is the umpire -- there are sites that show ball/strike tendencies that are actionable.
