Minimum # of starts a pitcher needs to adjust to the majors
Trying to recall a couple of studies that were done on how many starts a pitcher needs to adjust to the majors. Thought I might have seen it on Baseball Prospectus or the fantasy section of ESPN or possibly here on Masterballs site. The study dealt with starting pitchers who initially struggled with the transition to the majors but once they had amassed a certain number of starts their careers took off. Thought it was 35ish starts. Anyone recall seeing such a study? Reason I ask is Chris Tillman, who threw his second gem in his last 3 outings, may be such a starter turning the corner.
