The Athletics claimed Luke Hughes on waivers from the Minnesota Twins........Hughes will report right away - there needs to be a corresponding move from the 40 man but with Hughes likely to be inserted into the competition at 3rd base it might well be sending Josh Donaldson to AAA to work on getting his swing back.
For AL only players a double alert - you may need to replace Donaldson if you tried the cheap catcher play and Hughes can help teams who have a need at 2B/MI/1B/3B/CI especially in deeper leagues
There is a trick move as well IF you already owned Hughes, he can be "sent to the minors" and then recalled if/when you deem best.
