Mets manager Sandy Alderson said Monday that David Wright underwent an MRI which revealed a stress fracture in his lower back.
The injury is the result of a diving tag of Carlos Lee at third base back on April 19. Wright won't go on the disabled list until he receives a second opinion and even if the initial diagnosis is confirmed, he would not be sidelined for a significant period of time. Alderson said treatment would be non-surgical and that he would need to rest for approximately 10 days before returning to baseball activities. Hopefully it won't be a lingering issue. Daniel Murphy, Justin Turner and Willie Harris figure to play regularly in the Mets' infield for now.
This sounds like trouble....Sell Sell Sell!!
