Vazquez is Toast

#1 Post by viper »

Any doubts I had about releasing Vazquez have been eliminated in the bottom of the first against the Nats. The inning can be best summed up by the last out when the batter, Nats pitcher Jason Marquis, was thrown out trying to reach third for a triple after driving in the 5th and 6th runs.

For the inning Vazquez held the Nats to 6 earned runs on 6 hits and a walk.

Burnt toast at that.
I tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something I loved from my childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy us. Mr. Stay Puft! We used to roast Stay-Puft marshmallows, by the fire, at Camp Waconda.

My thought would be this. WHO would take over his roster spot? A good prospect?

They really don't have a good prospect ready. Later in the season, perhaps Alex Sanabia or Sean West. Right now, Jay Buente is their most effective starter at New Orleans, but he isn't anyone to lose sleep over.
