Farewell, George
And thank you for all of your contributions to baseball, the Yankees and to entertain us, the baseball fans. Like him or hate him - the Boss was undeniably an major factor on baseball as we know it today.- and thank you for one very special moment that will live with me forever ...and brings a tear to my eye to this day ... having little Travis John throw out the first pitch at a Yankee game after recovering from his horrific fall. Farewell, Mr. Steinbrenner.
These are my views based on my own opinions and observations - your mileage may vary.

Re: Farewell, George
Not just baseball, he was one of the more philanthropic owners in the game, albeit sometimes quietly. He donated yearly to The Jimmy Fund, the official charity of his arch rivals a few hundred miles away.
