Assuming that all these articles are saved in an archive somewhere, it seems to me the shelf life of a home page articles should not exceed about 30 days. Right now there is an article published in January on the home page.
It seems these are the last article for the various standard columns but still January is many snow storm past.
Even with the "Latest Articles" headline in the upper left side of the home page, I tend to scroll the page. I do think the length of that scroll could be reduced.

we are working on this now (literally, todd and i were discussing yesterday) and building out a schedule to ensure articles are indeed current and updated weekly.
