A Shocking Statistic

#1 Post by viper »

It is normally stated that certain teams draw well on the road because they are good and have great fans who follow them where ever they play. The Cubs, Yankees and Red Sox come to mind. In the world of misleading statistics [according to the ESPN site on attendance], the inept Washington Nationals have the SECOND best road attendance number exceed only by the Cubbies. I guess people come out when the home team is all but guaranteed a victory. It also helps that they have only made one of their three trips to Floridia and that single trip included opening day when the Marlins had one of their two 30K+ attendance days. The Nats are 27th in average home attendance.

That is a pretty funny stat. If they are still up there at the end of the year it would be pretty funny that people would come out when they know there team will win.

I doubt they will be but it would be interesting Human reaction.
