Gausman....cause for concern?

#1 Post by CubFan »

Starting to wonder if Gausman is pitching through his earlier shoulder inflammation which stalled his ST. His FB velo on his last 4 pitches were 91.5, 91.7, 94.2 and 89.6. Isn't his FB normally around 94 mph. He through a ton of sliders which with many of them hit hard and his FB location was lacking and hittable. His last 2 starts have been major clunkers. Since you are another Gausman fan I figure you've been watching his starts closely. Cause for concern? What are your thoughts?

Gausman is quoted as saying he's 88-98 and essentially laughed off the issue. Of course, I am concerned, but one has to assume if Gausman was experiencing soreness, he'd let them know and not risk further injury. Gausman is at home against the Yankees next week. He'll likely be on a lot of fantasy benches. But not mine.
