Mike Soroka value

#1 Post by Slasherized »

Just looking through some of the projections and notice Soroka is projected for 192 IP, which I think could be slightly over aggressive. Given that he is not a high strike out pitcher, I feel that any loss of innings pitched will rapidly decrease his value.

A combination of (i) the Braves improved bullpen (ii) Soroka pitching a career high of 183 ip after an injury shortened year and (III) the Braves endless depth at pitching. I feel they may take it easy on him given he's only 21. Any thoughts?

Soroka is 22, will turn 23 in August. If the Braves didn't take it easy on him last year, why would they do so this season?

I guess that is a fair way to look at it. :D

I guess I'm just more concerned with the downside in the event he doesn't match his career high in innings due to the lack of K's.

Absolutely. I address this in Soroka's profile.
