Draft Position Trade

#1 Post by mrmruwitchuwitch »

10 team NL keeper league; 5x5 roto; Snake Draft; 14 hitters/9 pitchers plus 2 floaters at either H/P; Automatic salary increase year over year so top players drafted in Rounds 1 and 2 automatically are back in the draft the following year.
Lotos of value in low priced keepers on my team; Probable keepers: Acuna(Round 19); Buehler (Round 18); Stripling (Round 17); Margot-maybe(Round 16);Winker (Round 15); Albies (Round 14)- may have to move up Senzel off minor roster

Draft Position: 2,19, 21, 39, 41 etc

Discussing adding the number 6 pick in the draft plus another pick for my 19 & 21.
Thought here is that at 2 & 6 can add two "superstars" to already solid roster with 3 top 20 players versus a little more uncertainty near #20 pick. Several other keepers in top 25 will be cored: Soto,

Question is...from strategy standpoint does this make sense
What round do I ask for as his trade off for my 2nd and 3rd round picks?
Essentially thinking will get Scherzer or DeGrom at #2 and then Top hitter at 6 compared to PItcher #2 and then a few $20 hitters at 19/21. Feel I can get value with the other pick I acquire.

#2 is worth about $40 while #19 and #21 combined in the low $50s so a ninth rounder is "fair". Anything you get back sooner, "on paper" is a good deal for you.
