The next Shannon Stewart?

By that title I reveal my age. In my 10-team AL only league we can keep up to 5 minor league/college/foreign players until their ROY elegibiity runs out. Then we can keep them for 3 years at a buck.

I try to find at least 1 prospect that has the potential to play regularly and steal 40+ bases. The profit potential at a buck is huge. Last year I drafted Desmond Jennings and still hold him. My question is whether any prospects have a better chance of making it and breaking out. Some options:

Fernando Perez - TB
Julio Burbon - Tex
Ben Revere - Min
Aaron Hicks - Min


Are these better than Jennings? Any others I should jump over these guys?

BTW.....how did you get that insane list of keepers in your league? Longoria and Kinsler for $1?

Hey Cubfan, thanks for the input. Our league has a unique keeper system. We can only keep players that cost 10 bucks or less. We can keep them for 3 years at that static rate. The trick is that we can only keep 5 each year. This forces players back into the auction pool. This is the last year for Kinsler and Shields so I need a good end-game at the auction.

Our 5 man minor league roster supplements this system. We can keep them down until the year after they lose their rookie eligibility. Then the 3 year clock starts and they cost $1 per year. This year I'm holding Travis Snider, Rick Porcello, Mike Moustakas and Desmond Jennings. I have room for one replacement (Longoria is coming up) and have the 7th pick. Plenty of good options at that slot.
