C.Hamels for M.Harvey

#1 Post by Black Sox »

Got offered this trade in my 5x5 Mix redraft. I turned it down. Am i wrong? Should I be selling high on Harvey and get a top 10 pre season pitcher for a later round pick? Part of me feels like Harvey is having a special season, was miss forecasted in the pre season. While I think Hamels will have a better whip when all is said and done I feel like Harvey's advantage in K rate cancels that out. Just wondering people's thoughts. These are normally the deals I'm looking to make but something about this one didn't feel right.

While I admit to being wrong on Harvey, I'm all over Hamels for Harvey.

I'm all aboard the Harvey train and would not deal him for another pitcher unless we're talking a Verlander or Kershaw.....even then I would think hmmmm. Ride the breakout. Not that I think it will happen but this guy is on pace to strikeout 300.

I say unto thee ...Ubaldo Jimenez 2010 .... wonder whatever became of that guy? I'm pretty sure about Hamels. Harvey's a cipher.

Third. Didn't he become quite human the second half of that season? 4.41, 6.04, 2.83, 4.34 - ERA for June, July, August, September 2010. Fantastic April and May ...hasn't come close since. I'd take Hamels because of his track record.

Guy upped the offer to include Ryu. So I'd get Ryu & Hamels for Harvey.

I also have an offer of D.Pedroia for Harvey & A.Cabrera. My team is last in BA right now. It's the same owner, tried to get him to include Ryu in 2nd deal and he refused.

Thoughts...

Thanks for the advice Perry I took the deal. I almost accepted Hamels for Harvey straight up getting Ryu tips the trade way in my favor.
