SP targets

Get advice specific to your team. This can be opinions on trades, free agent or waiver pickups, who to start or even just "rate my team". It is helpful if you provide sufficient details regarding your league format and team composition.

SP targets

#1 Post by DMT_RJ »

I'm in a close race in my 18 league 5x5 team but my staff has been decimated by injuries (Lewis, Marcum, Ogando, Francisco, Stauffer). The following pitchers are available via trade. I only have about $10 of cap room to work with. For example, one owner said he'd take Stauffer for either Chen or Arroyo. Or I could do both for Stauffer and Pineda (who at 6 could be a decent keeper next year).

How would you rank these guys?

Kennedy 6 - seems like a good buy-low candidate but maybe I'm missing something
G Floyd 10 - been on a nice run but his salary is probably too high
Nolasco 6 - a total enigma
Hochevar 6 - also on a solid run
B Chen 1 - main factor is he's so cheap so I could add Chen
Arroyo 1 - same as Chen

Presumably Ian Kennedy who just doesn't have command right now and as I mentioned in another thread there may be some injury we don't know about, so while greater upside too much risk unless you can afford a) the salary and b) can just put him on your bench

For guys to have active for now - excluding Kennedy and Floyd, I like them in this order
1) Hochevar
2) Chen
3) Arroyo
4) Nolasco

Thanks for the quick reply CH. I need to get whoever I choose active next week. My other option is to just FAAB an MR and hope one of my injured SPs returns soon. But, Stauffer isn't much to give up for Chen or Arroyo. I got outbid on Hochevar last week by a buck so that stings.
