2012 OUTFIELD CONSENSUS RANKINGS

#1 Post by deansdaddy »

Time to rank some more players - this time the OF's.

I'd like to take a different approach here - since there are so many to deal with. I am going to ask for two lists.

1 - your top 12 OF's

2 - your top 12 mid tier OF's (think .280/20 hr's/90 rbi's or a speed guy)

then give me ONE sleeper pick for late in the draft.

Not really a sleeper but I had a hard time leaving Cameron Maybin out of my top 24. Really, everything after Chris Young could go many different ways for me.

I will say this though, for some reason Maybin strikes me as a player that could really break out in a major way this year. Like "he would be in everyone's top 12 next year" kind of breakout. He's on that ARod path to superstardom where you are this overhyped prospect that comes up and fails a few times and then everyone forgets about you until you finally fulfill all that promise. He is still only 25 after all and every year people "come out of nowhere" to be considered a top player at their position the next year. I think if he were to hit 290 15HR 100R 50SBs he'd be in everyone's top 12 next year.
