In a shocking development, the Rays have signed Carlos Pena.

Did anyone really think they'd start the year with the 2 complete unknowns they had vying for that job?

That's 2 low risk signings by 1 of the best front offices in baseball in the last week. I really think this team would be a perennial playoff contender if they were in any other division in baseball.

guess my point was, they aren't necessarily thought of that way by 'the masses'.

every year, every publication has NY and BOS finishing 1,2 or 2,1 in that division.
