Thome?

#1 Post by special k »

Any sense how much Thome will play with Hafner back?
And, yes, this is related to the Sizemore/Plouffe discussion. If suddenly Thome is playing just 2-3 times a week, is he less likely to surpass the other guys in the HR department?

Or should I just give up on ARod? (OK, I kid there, but it is frustrating.)

Honestly, at this point, there is no "right" answer, you can only go with your instincts. There is no indication how much Cleveland intends on playing either Thome or Hafner. That said, Thome is likely to hit as many homers in one game as the others are the rest of the season.

Got D. Lee, waived Plouffe, kept Thome and Sizemore.
Agree that Thome could pop a few at any time.
Like that Sizemore will see worse pitching, and that he has a longer track record.
Didn't like Plouffe's two-for-26 week. Looks like the AL may have caught up with him.
One point down as they turn into the home stretch, but even though I need a bunch of stuff to break my way I have no complaints: I'm making a team that had Papi, Beltre and AGon protected for a combined $19 sweat freaking bullets. (Hello Azdrubal and Peralta bought for a combined $6, plus Tomlin for a $1 traded in a deal in late July as a keeper in a deal involving Romero.)
