Coin flip?
I can blow what's left of my FAAB and get Derrek Lee for my AL-only standard 5x5 (We have a loophole for guys who started in the league even if they switch to NL.) It's a tight two-team race, I need to pick up a point each in BA and HR to win (plus some other pitching stuff, but I've made my bed there).
Which to replace? Or should I jettison Thome instead? I have position flexibility for anything.
If it's a tie, they're all cheap for next year, but Plouffe's a better keeper because Sizemore is only 3B eligible and Thome, who knows, but that's only a minor consideration, if at all.
Late thoughts if we can tear ourselves away from pigskins?
Thanks, guys.
Plouffe or S. Sizemore?
Re: Plouffe or S. Sizemore?
Consider me torn, literally and figuratively.
Big picture, I worry about the HR and let BA take care of itself.
That leaves Thome in.
And you are right, it is a virtual dead heat between Plouffe and Sizemore. Their power metrics are virtually identical. They both play in rather cavernous venues.
If you want to compare schedules, Plouffe as 9 at home, 10 on the road. The only good park is a makeup game in the Bronx. He has a series in Det, KC and Cleve. Sizemore has 10 at home, 9 on the road with series at Texas, Anaheim and Seattle.
The difference is not much, but Texas is a good hitter's park and would probably be the tie-breaker for me, but i sure would not like to live off of the difference.

Re: Plouffe or S. Sizemore?
Schedule angle interesting. But you see one good hitters' park. I see two teams on the road in a pennant race, Tex and LAA, with decent staffs likely to toss their best pitchers, compared to teams with worse staffs, Cle and KC, who are going to throw who-knows-who down the stretch.
Advantage may swing the other way, toward Plouffe.

Interesting point as well.
