Napoli $7 yes
V. Martinez $20 yes
S. Rodriguez $6 maybe
Valencia $1 maybe
A. Ramirez $23 maybe
Figgins $23 no
Bourjos $4 yes
Kubel $11 maybe
D. Young $15 yes
Ka'aihue $11 maybe

Duensing $1 yes
Gregg $3 yes
Holland $1 maybe
Liriano $14 yes
Ogando $1 maybe
Pavano $4 yes
Thornton $1 yes
Valverde $19 your best trade chip
Cj Wilson $6 maybe
I eliminated 1 player and gave you 9 I would keep. You need to pick 1 more. Given that most of these guys are dirt cheap I would keep Alexi Ramirez even if the salary is a tad high. Though he'd probably go for about that at auction.

With Gregg, and Thornton already on your team, and for $4 combined, you have a luxury very few teams have. If you weren't to keep Ramirez for your 10th, it would probably have to be Valverde, or whoever you got in a trade for him.

Depending on his auction date, wouldn't he want to monitor Ogando as a potential closer? I hear Feliz may be ticketed back to the pen, but I'd wait as long as possible before submitting a list given that fluid situation. Or he may already be an intriguing trade chip.

Looks like 10 for 110. if you wanted to keep Alexi instead, then I would remove Ka'aihue from the keeper list.
These are my views based on my own opinions and observations - your mileage may vary.

I'm down to picking two of the following:

Duensing $1
Holland $1
Ogando $1
Pavano $4
Wilson $6

Already keeping Liriano $14, Thornton $1, Gregg $3

Which two? Leaning toward Wilson and Duensing.

Those are all attractive options.

When is your list due?

cuz if you can wait til Saturday to send it in, Ogando should be more of a known entity by then. If Feliz is for sure in the rotation, I think you HAVE to keep Ogando. If Feliz is moved back to closer, then you can't keep him.

I agree with Duensing.

Even though you have Thornton and Gregg, having an 'extra' closer means you can trade 1 of them for pretty much whatever you want

The list is due tonight.

I rank them like this:

Wilson
Duensing
Pavano (Only behind Duensing because he's $3 more)
Holland
Ogando (Moves to the top if closing)

Agree?

I'm not in agreement with the lists as posted.

I'd go;

Wilson (Jump in innings is scary)
Ogando (IF he's closer before your list is due)
Holland (I prefer his upside and he will K some guys)
Duensing (I think he's about top of what he is and a few BABIP points and you won't want to roster him)
Pavano (I can't see that fairy dust lasting for two healthy seasons or being effective for two)

I think i would personally take Ogando for a buck regardless if he is actually closing or not. I do like Duensing and Holland but it is there i would make my cut.

Having your saves already accounted for makes it easy for you to nominate. just throw out the saves on your turn and watch the other owners use up roster spots and overspend.

Calling the Captain.........Paging Perry

What is the latest word in the TEX closer situation?

The OP needs your advice by sundown.

Consensus is, if Feliz is indeed a starter, Ogando needs to be a keeper for him.

-------------

I still like Duensing as your 1st keep.

Then Ogando, if he's the closer

Then a real toss-up for me between Wilson and Pavano. Pavano is cheaper and more stable, Wilson has more upside.

1) I would freeze the following ten
Napoli $7
V. Martinez $20
Valencia $1
A. Ramirez $23
Bourjos $4
Duensing $1
Holland $1 or Ogando $1
Pavano $4
Thornton $1
Cj Wilson $6

The problem with both Holland and Ogando is lack of defined role.
Holland has the better skills
BUT if Ogando get the chance to close you want him - if not you want Holland if he gets a shot in the rotation - make a guess/choice...YOUR preference as either will give you value but you don't want to risk keeping both over other clear keepers.

2) I really prefer Duensing at $1 to Pavano at $4 or Wilson at $6 (and I like both of them at those prices)

Thanks everyone. Captain, my draft list differs from you in only the following ways:

Delmon Young at 15 over Ramirez at 23. Do you think the position scarcity warrants the additional money?

I also had Gregg at 3 taking up one of the pitching spots. Not crazy about him, but at 3 bucks the only risk is in who I lose to keep him.
