These are the players I know of that either had off season surgeries or finished the 2008 season on the DL or are going into 2009 with an injury problem. Any one I missed?

Carlos Quentin, OF, CHW

Ended 2008 season with wrist injury.
He is skipping the WBC as a precautionary measure.

Apparently he is completely healed and ready to go, so he may not qualify for your list.
However, wrist injuries on hitters give me pause. I just want to see a few good spring training swings to allay any concerns.

I think you could probably add David Ortiz.

I'd put Aaron Hill on that list. Concussion ended his season.

carlos pena:minor abdominal surgery will not participate in WBC
jed lowrie:non-displaced wrist fracture
cahd cordero:shoulder, hanrahan is in line to be the nats closer in 2009
bj upton: major surgery left shoulder

Mike Napoli- shoulder; seems ok
Jeff Clement- meniscus in knee; seems fine
Troy Glaus- shoulder; missed playing time coming

although if these three make the cut on your squad right now you have bigger problems.......IF Frandsen can get a solid jump on
the starting spot in SF then there is some value there.
