Object Lesson - chasing wins

Get advice specific to your team. This can be opinions on trades, free agent or waiver pickups, who to start or even just "rate my team". It is helpful if you provide sufficient details regarding your league format and team composition.

Object Lesson - chasing wins

#1 Post by da_big_kid_94 »

Adding one more voice to the futility of chasing wins ... in the last 24 hours, in a weekly transaction league, I have had 4 pitchers (Ely, Monasterios, Jackson and Kenrdricks) throw a total of 28 innings - during that span, they gave up a total of 11 hits, 7 walks .... and ONE run (earned) ... and the sum total of ZERO wins amongst them. A total equaling 3+ complete games ...with one run allowed ... and no wins to show for it.
These are my views based on my own opinions and observations - your mileage may vary.

On Tuesday alone I had Haren (0 ER, no decision), Hammel (1 ER, no decision) Bonderman x 2 leagues (3 ER, lost 3-2), and Lilly (3 ER, lost 3-2). All the starts were either won by the bullpen or losses by one run. 38.1 IP, 2.34 ERA, 0 W. It's frustrating, but the ERA and WHIP are a nice consolation. Really makes you want to slap the guys that have Clippard and Marshall though, doesn't it?
