MB thoughts as to if K wood gets his job back?

i took a flier on him - does he get it back or does he become a 10mil set up man

There is no way, if he can pitch, that the Indians will pay him 10 million to set up Chris Perez. It's a waste of money and it'd destroy his trade value. When he can pitch, he's the closer.

wood will be closing somewhere this season

my money says perez closes now - and does ok-good, showing indians he's their guy.

then wood comes back and clev has to show him off that he's actually healthy. so he goes to closer.

by june july august - wood is on another team.

AL Only play - you can't pay more than $5 for wood cause you might only get 2-3 months of use out of him (if he were traded to an NL contender)
But the 10-15 saves he gets in those two months are worth $5 and there is a possibility he's traded to (MIN) where he'd be inline for alot more than that.

Yep, I went $10 for Wood in yesterday's auction.

Wood will not finish the season closing for the Indians if he's healthy and if Perez shows the ability to close. The open question is whether he finishes the season closing. There are teams that have the budget to blow $10m on a setup guy who can close.

In our AL only 5x5 this past Sat. we were able to roster Wood for $9. Already having Soria as a $16 keeper, Wood just needs to give us 15 saves to earn more than his $9 and give us the closer and a half's worth of saves needed to finish in the top 3rd of the Category.

We'll know more in a couple weeks how good of a play this was, or wasnt
