E, Santana $10 in AL only- Do I keep

#1 Post by whammer »

Need a little help.
I have Santana at 10-AL only- 4x4 - Was planning to toss him back in, then he looks light out yesterday.

My keeper date is Wednesday. Would you keep. League has about 20% inflation.

My other options to keep at 10 are Slowey, Pettite and Niemann..

Thoughts appreciated

1) Santana is throwing free and easy and says he is feeling good
2) Santana is better than all those guys

So, yes if you need pitching and that is a reasonable price - and it seems to be from your description, I would keep Ervin this year for $10.......only caveat is that he did have some health issues last year so there are chances, but the upside is greater I believe

it is tough because all the pitchers you mention are at value at $10. my guess is they go early in the draft they cost more than ten, then go late a little less.

all in all, i would keep ervin over the others, but, i might consider dumping all of them. they are all fine #3 starters, but you need at least one dominant guy for the others to assist in my meager view.

I agree that he's right around value at $10, but if the FA options aren't any better, I'd keep him.
