Daily Fantasy 6/6 - FanDuel evening games

#1 Post by alleyoops »

Posting this early, as I'll be on the road most of the day tomorrow. I'll try to update it before the evening games start, if I make any changes.

P Johnny Cueto $9,900 PHI@CIN ✗ 1500 less than Darvish 20%
C Derek Norris $3,000 OAK@BAL ✗ vs LH in BAL 30%
1B Adrian Gonzalez $3,200 LOS@COL ✗ vs RH in COL 55%
2B Dee Gordon $3,800 LOS@COL ✗ vs LH in COL 10%
3B Manny Machado $3,100 OAK@BAL ✗ vs LH in BAL 20%
SS Jed Lowrie $3,100 OAK@BAL ✗ vs LH in BAL 10%
OF Adam Jones $3,500 OAK@BAL ✗ vs LH in BAL 40%
OF Andre Ethier $2,800 LOS@COL ✗ vs RH in COL 12.5%
OF Mitch Moreland $2,600 CLE@TEX ✗ vs RH in TEX 2.5%

Others considered: Zobrist 3100, Carpenter 3600, Reyes 3600

High % owned guys who I didn't have in my lineup:

Ross 22.5%, Darvish 20%
posey 15%, buck 15%
zobrist 20%
hardy 17.5%, hramirez 17.5%, tulo 20%
Cespedes 17.5%, Ellsbury 32.5%, Heyward 22.5%, Taveras 20%, Kemp 15%

Generally, I think not having a high % owned guy in my lineup is a bad thing - i.e. I missed finding someone who many others liked. I expected Tulo and Darvish to be highly-owned, and am not surprised by Zobrist. So it looks like Ellsbury and Heyward were my "misses".

Decided to enter the late night games, as well.

P Tyson Ross $6,500 WAS@SDP ✗ not many attractive options, price is very low
C Buster Posey $3,400 NYM@SFG ✗ would have gone with Montero, but he's out of the lineup
1B Jose Abreu $4,400 CWS@LAA ✗ don't like the R vs R matchup, but he's one of the best hitters available
2B Daniel Murphy $3,000 NYM@SFG ✗ not many decent 2b options, at least he's L vs R
3B Conor Gillaspie $2,800 CWS@LAA ✗ similar - not many decent options, L vs R
SS Erick Aybar $3,300 CWS@LAA ✗ best SS option in these games
OF Jason Heyward $3,000 ATL@ARI ✗ probably missed him earlier, nice matchup
OF Josh Hamilton $3,600 CWS@LAA ✗ nice matchup
OF Mike Trout $5,000 CWS@LAA ✗ same logic as Abreu - have to include him if there's room

With only 4 games, the options are limited. After taking a low-priced P, there was room for a lot of high-priced hitters.

The NFBC runs a private league with FanDuel for entries into their 2015 contest. I got lucky early on and took down one for a free Main Event Entry -- this time it's for the On-line Championship. 40 teams, $10 entry, max 3. I think only 34 signed up.

ENTRY ONE

P Cole Hamels PHI $8400
C John Buck SEA $2500
1B Albert Pujols LAA $3400
2B Howie Kendrick LAA $2600
3B Adrian Beltre TEX
SS Elvis Andrus $2800
OF Mitch Moreland TEX
OF Mike Trout LAA
OF Shin-Soo Choo TEX

My late game lineup won, and the other pushed.

Another bad night on FanDuel for me but I did well on Fan Throwdown and Fantasy Aces. I'll see what I like on FD for the late slate -- I have the night off from my MLBAM gig.

We may have different results with similar lineups, as I'm playing nothing higher than $5 at this point. I figure the competition is tougher the higher you go, although I know that might not be true.
