Hank Conger

Once Vernon Wells puts on his pinstripes there will be a spot on LA's 25 man roster for Hank Conger.
- LA's bench is Andrew Romine, C Snyder and K Calhoun with VW gone.
- Conger's competition for that roster spot is John Hester and Luis Jimenez
- Having Conger on the squad will allow Trumbo and Calhoun to serve as the 4th and 5th OF's
- Scioscia loves carrying 3 catchers
- Conger's bat is ready for the show, it's his glove that's lagging
- Conger could DH on days when Trumbo needs the day off or is playing either 1B, 3B or OF

This all make sense to everybody? Am I missing something?

I'd think there is a multitude of options that will be released/ dfa'd/ etc shortly before they have to cross that bridge. But beyond that your reasoning makes sense.

At Angel game today and feeling (amongst writers) is that Conger is a long shot to make the team ... part of that is that the Angels need to see IF he can be a MLB catcher and the only way to do that is to get him straightened out while catching and hitting every day
