The Hoboken Generals burst out of the gate to Win Week one in the Rookie Invitational with 103 points. Pitching led the way as the Generals grabbed 66 points on that side of the ledger with Trevor Hoffman's two blown saves being the only bumps during the week. His trio of closers tallied 8 saves between them and 17th round pick Jon Rauch looks like a steal at this point. The Chase Utley led offense was solid and steady - only failing to deliver in the BA department. If they had hit a little better - then the Generals would have had an even better week.

Todd Easterling's UK Blue Cats were close behind in second place with 100.5 points. They had a more balanced attack with Nelson Cruz delivering 4 HR's and 9 RBI's and Rajai Davis smacking 10 hits and swiping 4 bags.

Tom Breslin's Frost Heaves also had a solid week and stand in third place with 91.5 points. Their 58 hitting points set the pace there. He'll need to find some pitching this week as W's and saves were elusive.

The fun part of the early points of the season is the volatility in the standings - we will surely see some movement from the teams down in the standings. Good luck in Week 2.

Nick Passarelli and the Generals followed up their opening week win with another solid effort coming out on top of the standings for week 2. This obviously helped them hold onto the top spot in the overall standings. They were solid across the board finishing with 97.5 points. They then went out and added speedster Eugenio Velez in Faab to help bolster their team speed - the one weak spot out of the gate.

Ken Magner's Sack Sat II finished second with 93.5

Dave McAlary's Big Booty team and Mark Jahns Miller Park squad tied for third with 93 points.

Todd Easterling and his UK Blue Cats were the big winner in Week 3 with 109.5 points. The big week propelled him up to the top spot after lurking in second place for two weeks.

Ken Magner's Sack Sat II team had a strong week as well - posting 105 points for the week to finish the week in second place in the YTD standings as well.

Mike Ladd's Vienna Vipers showed some life this week finishing third with 101 points. The effort lifted them out of the cellar and into 12th place overall.

Troy Pearson's Sin City Saints also had a nice week finishing forth for the week and making a little move up the standings himself.

My own Central Park Muggers squad had a rough week. We started strong getting into the 80 point range only to tumble (thank you Dave Bush) all the way down to last place by weeks end.

Good luck to everyone this week.

Ken Magner's Sack Sat II team won Week 4 with a commanding 130 points - he sits in second place overall with 117 points - a mere 1 point out of the top spot.

Mark Jahns's Millerpark allstars came in second for the week with some good pitching and moved into the Top 3 overall with 105 points.

Todd Easterling's UK Blue Cat squad had another solid week with 101 points. It was enough to hold onto the Top spot for at least another week.

Tom Breslin's Frost Heaves finished fourth with 100 points - and moved up into 5th place overall.

Veteran owner Ken Magner won Week 5/6 propelling his Sack Sat team into first place for the first time this season. His team racked up 117.5 points to help push his total in the overall standings to 126.

Nathan Oullette's Island Candidates team had one of their best weeks of the season finishing second for the week with 104 points. They are sitting in the middle of the pack and hoping that newly acquired OF Travis Snider can help them keep moving up.

Brian Oakchunas' Big Alameda Machine made some noise as well this week finishing third with 99.5 points. The performance helped the team crack the 80 point barrier and move into 5th place in the Overall.

Troy Pearson and his Sin City Saints squad finished 4th for the week and are sitting in fourth place overall.

Todd Easterling's UK Blue Cats hit a bump in the road last week and fell two spots to third place overall after leading the competition for the last two weeks.

Nick Pass's Hoboken Generals had their worst week of the season finishing last for the week - they tumbled to 6th place after leading the competition for the first two scoring periods.

Good Luck to all this week!

Tom Breslin's Frost Heaves team woke up last week to win 6/7 last week with an impressive 123 pt showing. Ryan Zimmerman is back and hitting again leading the way for the offense with a solid week. Brett Gardner continues to impress and a veteran laden lineup produced last week. On the Pitching side Bronson Arroyo and Johnny Cueto had nice weeks and Jon Broxton was dominant. All in all - the Frost Heaves used the big week to climb back up the standings.

Ken Magner didn't win the week this time - but he still finished second with 121 pts. Jose Bautista's deal with the devil continued as he smacked four more HR's last week. His pitching was great last week with 6 W's and 4 SV and he stayed on top in the Overall standings.

Nick Passarelli's Hoboken Generals got off the canvas after a tough week to bounce back and finish 3rd for the week with 106 points. David Ortiz seems to be waking up and Hunter Pence finally lived up to his draft slot.

Troy Pearson's Sin City Saints finished 4th with 98 points. They have quietly inched their way up to second place but now must deal with the injury to their best hitter Andre Ethier.

Jim Foxx and his Dos Equis squad finished 5th for the week and are another team hanging around and making some noise in the standings.

Ken Magner's Sack Sat II team third weekly win meant that even the demise of Grady Sizemore couldn't slow this juggernaut down. 115.5 points for the week and another W in the column making them the leader on that board as well. Justin Mourneau has been a beast and 14 other owners are wondering why they didn't pick up Jose Bautista. I know that I thought about it at the time - but dismissed him as a platoon player. He may very well find himself there again at some point - but 14 hr's is already almost a career high for autista - so if the correction comes it doesn't matter since these stats are already in the book.

Todd Easterling's UK Blue Cats had a nice week finishing second with 111.5 points. They used it to reclaim second place overall. The return of Nelson Cruz was the big news for this team as he picked right up where he left off prior to his DL stint with 12 rbis, 2 hr's and 2 sb's.

I haven't been able to right very many good things about my own team this season - but this week my Central Park Muggers finally found there way into this thread finishing third with 100.5 points.
The offense finally clicked with Ben Zobrist finally providing some much needed production. We have been forced to go all in with young pitching grabbing Porcello and Bailey last week and adding Bumgarner and Daniel Hudson to go along with Steven Strasburg on the bench. Justin Smoak has been struggling badly and Chris Davis could be back soon.

Jim Foxx's Dos Equis squad finished 4th for the week with 96.5 pts.

Mike Ladd's Vianna Vipers showed some fight finishing 5th with 93.5 points. Much like the Muggers - Viper's offense woke up led by Mike Napoli's 4 hr week.

Nick Passarelli's Hoboken Generals were the dog of the week finishing last with 37 points. Injuries reduced this team to a walking MASH unit.

Good Luck to everyone this week. Keep fighting!!!

A little late posting this -and I admit to losing the paper with my notes for the week.

I do however know for a fact that Dave McAlary and his Big Bad Booty Daddy squad won the week and in the process made a nice little move up the standings. They sit in 5th place in the standings as of today with 90.5 points.

Week 8/9 was a big one for Rotodog's squad as Alex Rios, Brandon Phillips, Aubrey Huff and a rejuvenated Troy Glaus led the way on offense. The pitching staff was good as well chipping in 6 W's and 3 saves. Not sure why Dog is hanging onto Kawakami at this point - but they have a nice SP core with Billingsley, Danks, Pelfry, E Santana and J Vazquez. They are hoping the Vazquez has turned a corner with last nights performance.

Sorry - don't remember who else had good weeks - but feel free to fill in the gaps if you want to pimp your own squad here.

The fantasy season is a marathon of ups and downs, slumps and hot streaks - and no one in the Rookie League is hotter right now than Dave McAlary's Big Booty Daddy squad.

I have been remiss in writing up the weekly winners the past two weeks and with Dave winning the week for the third week in a row it's time to give him his props.

He won Week 9-10 with a strong Sat/Sun push that stole the weekly win from my own Muggers squad - who saw their best week of the season be good enough for only a second place finish.

Rotodog followed that up with another nailbiter in Week 10-11 edging out Todd Easterling and the UK Blue Cats 105.5 to 105 for the win. The Booty squad thumped out an insane 21 HR's last week with 51 R's and 61 RBI's. They hit .360 as a team and swiped 8 bases to boot. Adum Dunn, Aubrey Huff and Troy Glaus provided the bulk of the power while Derek Jeter and Geovany Soto chipped in nicely as well. The pitching staff was solid but not spectacular and the return of Brad Lidge at least gives hope that the Booty squad can get some more saves - the underbelly of this squad right now. This team is healthy right now and hitting and moving up the standings - they are in third place as of today and in the mix for the overall spot.

Todd Easterling's squad was solid again and hung on to second place for another week. Buster Posey's emergence has been the big news for the Cats as they have gotten another productive bat into their lineup. They have been riding the hot hitting of Robinson Cano for ahwile now and are anxious to see if they can chip away at Sack's lead with the return of Nelson Cruz. Unfortunately Cruz will not be back til next week now - but his return with bring back even more punch to this team.

Very delinquent in getting these write ups out there - but I we'll update here by giving my own Central Park Muggers their due for winning Week 11/12.

It was the best week by far for the Muggers who are trying to make a move in the second half. Watch out Ken - here we come.
