Okay - if you want to get some reaction to your squad - post it here. Some of you are playing in other events - so feel free to wait until after your other teams have drafted to join the fray. We'll respect that and not post anyone's roster for them.

here is the team.. Not sure what to make of it yet, but the offense looks balanced as heck just from looking...
The SP pitching will need to be managed to keep the ratios in line but went with a few Upside picks In Rzc, Hochevar on the bench and Ervin Santana pitching like he did in the end of the season....3 closers and one upside saves source in B.League if Aardsma falters or gets hurt...

I ran no numbers and have no idea if I hit the targets I wanted to..I used the eyeball test to keep a mental tab of the Sbs and HRs....

Initial thoughts. It was like everyone drafted for the same cheat sheet. All the players that slipped in each and every mock draft, were take at almost the exact place the MB projections suggestion. This especially pitchers. Many had typically been drafted early or late in mock drafts. This evening they went pretty much in order.

My Team - Pick 11

Main weakness is speed, with or without Reyes/Roberts health - could have a ton of power if Manny and Chipper are anything of their former selves and if Blanks is the real deal. Think I balanced Johan with a good staff, with a lot of potential upside. Roberts pick forced me to be very versatile, so I have a lot of multiple position guys, which would help some of the fragility of this team.

Pick 5

I was fairly pleased with this draft. It looks like I'm a little short on steals, but hopefully I can at least finish middle of the pack there. I was scrambling somewhat after taking 3 pitchers @ 5, 6 and 7 and it seemed like every speed guy I targeted got taken by someone else just before my pick. First it was Phillips in round 2 which forced me to take Cano. Then Pierre went, so Borbon was the next target and he went before I could grab him. Next I thought I could just get steals from my SS but then Andrus and Bartlett went just before my pick. Needless to say, I settled on Davis and was able to grab Aybar later. This was an interesting draft as I have never taken two closers so early, but most of the top starters were gone and when Soria was still on the board in the 7th, I thought it better to grab one of the top closers to help ERA and WHIP. It could really come back to bite me if Rivera or Soria go down w/ injury but that's just a chance I'll have to take.

Lacking power, looks to be alot of power to the tune of 40 hr's short. I will need Vlad to make it through the summer as hot as the Texas heat and some other guys to play to their upside for me to have a shot. I am not thrilled with my staff either but I have some options and the WW to fix that up.

Any comments are appreciated.

Wow! I just noticed this team and after reading Mr Bendars comments, he realizes that this team has Huge upside if all the bets he made cash in...But if this offense isnt a DL stint waiting to happen, I dont what is...

That offnese is All or nothing....
Brandon Roberts (back)
Chipper ( whole Body)
Reyes ( thyroids and hammies)
Manny
The Guillen twins , Jose and Carlos
Hafner
Quentin
Blake ( age more than anything)

Add in a Rookie OF in Blanks and this seems like the perfect all or nothing team...Like I said, If they all maintain reasonable health, then it works out....But you could teach a whole Med school semester on sports injuries with this team.  I like the pitching staff better than mine though....

Pick #15

Drafting from the 15th position to be honest with you was a challenge. I really didn't plan on Carl Crawford falling to me in the 1st round. I was expecting to see either David Wright or Ian Kinsler here.

Going OF/OF with the first two picks would then put me a bit behind with the infielder picks. But, I liked Justin Upton anyways. Coming back I wanted an NL pitcher to start my staff but Haren was taken a few picks before. Had targeted Nelson Cruz and Ethier but decided to go with Verlander and Wainwright. Too much pitching, too early? We shall see. 5th round came around and couldn't pass on Papelbon. 6th round was a need for some power with Butler at 1B. At 7-8 I like Bailey and wanted Andrus and knew he wouldn't last to next round. 9-10 I stretched on Hawpe, and took Suzuki as first Catcher.

This teams strength is pitching. Quite a power outage here, but to me it looks pretty good. A positive to drafting in this spot is grabbing who you want, when you want. It's a long wait in between picks. By going SP/SP at 3/4 may have hurt on power, but we'll see what happens.

Lastly, my KDS was 1-15. I got my 15th choice. Good luck everyone.

I know I'm short on saves but feel will be able to pick them up and have upside with Perez, Baird and Feiliz. Lets see how it plays out. What you think?

Rotodog,
I don't disagree with your analysis, there is a lot of risk on my offense. The one thing I will say in my defense is I didn't reach for any of my injury risks - Manny was a full 3 rounds lower than the lowest draft of the 1st NFBC ADP's and Chipper was very close to the lowest. I thought the potential reward was greater than the risk of a flop. I didn't think predraft there was a chance Manny or Chipper would be on my team, but they slipped too far IMO. I thought Soriano, Beltran and Ortiz did as well, but had to draw the line somewhere.

To all/any that can answer,
One question - I took Wigginton as an insurance policy for Roberts, but he doesn't qualify there to start the season. I'm assuming no replacements (free agents) are allowed before the season starts for satellite or the main event, correct? FAAB starts in all cases the Sunday after the season starts?

Thanks,
Mark
