Second half winner will receive a free $125 entry for next year.

Maybe it's just cuz I'm doing well, but this is an awesome idea. The NFBC ought to consider incorporating this idea into more leagues. Who doesn't want to take a shot at a redo when teams had their first halves marred by injury, slow starts, etc.?

and where will the NFBC get the money accomplish this. In our case, Mastersball made a generous contribution. Second place for the full season gets $125 in winner-take-all [pretty sure that's right]. That amounts to a free entry. Another $125 has to come from somewhere.

When I said the "idea" I didn't mean the same exact league construction. I meant the idea of a second half prize. Jeez.

Just to clarify - we all paid $125 to play in this league - there is a first place prize of $1300 and a second place prize of $200.

I added the second half contest idea to give everyone (mainly teams like Brian mentions) to have something to shoot for in the second half. I wanted to try and keep the interest up in light of Ken and Todd's early dominance. The extra $125 for this league has been put up by myself.

Mastersball generous contribution has been the space on this Forum which we are grateful for as well as the guidance, support and help provided along the way. Todd coming up for a way to make the second half contest a reality (and then actually running the numbers for us) is the perfect example of that. It's why we are are and why we play rolled into one. Hopefully we can continue on and have another league next year, possibly just the Mastersball subscribers league (which we didn't get off the ground this year).

I had a lot of ideas about what I hoped for this league - some achieved and others not. I was very happy with our preseason and all of the debates and "lessons" we covered. Other ideas I had have been realized less so - and that is a byproduct of my not quite producing as much content as I had planned week-to-week. But I do see that we still have a bunch of managers playing hard - and that in the end is the REAL reason behind the league - to play out an NFBC league and learn from the challenge. Thanks to everyone for playing and keep battling.

Up here in the deep end of the pool. Nice, lets see if SCS can keep it up.

SinCity riding a nice wave currently. Tex and a solid staff may take this 2nd half deal??????
This is with a 15th place finish in week 2 of the 2nd half half. Not bad rookie.

Of course I want to give a big ups to Central Park for the 2nd half prize, I still would be digging even if it was not on the table but a big TY for the carrot. Not going anywhere even with my cashcow Fantasy Football around the corner.
