Old man river, I hope he hits .280 20 80...anything more than that is gravy. This is a guy you don't mind just plugging and playing on your roster.

Nice. Yeah, he could very easily do that, given his career numbers. I don't have them in front of me, but I want to say that last year was particularly bad for him (maybe worst ever, ratio wise?) and he still had pretty solid counting stats in the end.

You and I seem to be on the same schedule. Nice to know I'm not the only one who posts in the wee hours of the morn'… :)

Though a bit weak in the Ks, he should be good for healthy wins, and top notch ratios for this point of the draft. A four year decline in ERA and WHIP shows that he's getting better, and if he could only stay healthy enough for 200 innings - look out.

Motte was effective down the stretch last year and skills indicate an elite closer. With no more LaRussa to play games with the bullpen, here's hoping Motte holds the job all season and get's me 30+ saves.

Like the Motte pick. With the "genius" LaRussa's ego finally gone - I think you may actually see a more reasoned approach to how that bullpen get used in STL this year - making Motte a great target as a No 2 closer. LaRussa always loved to tinker and show us how smart he was. Most managers like to find their guy and roll with him getting defined roles for everyone - Motte could be a nice bargain here.

well i didnt get one of my top 8 closers but i will be happy coming in with the nest two on my list. Since the first owner took three and most other owners only have one i thought this was a good time to get my second closer before we wer into the speculative closers. Plus i have Street rated a bit higher than most becasue i have him higher than 5-6 of the closers already taken

This was not the plan here, but I can't let this guy slip any furthur (that's an intentional misspell, google it)

Seriously, do you all know something about him I don't? Why are we avoiding him like he's radioactive? The 1-5 hitters in the most improved lineup in the NL have all been rostered, so I'll roster their #6 hitter.

This guy has freakishly consistent the last 2 years, but I think we see a growth season this year. He's improved both his CT and BB rates the last 2 years and been somewhat snake-bitten in terms of his BABIP (which is around 300 each year, but with a massive 1 half/2nd half split). He's also improved his LD%. Add in all the guys on base in front of him and we could see.........

.285 25 95 (but since he hits 6th in the NL, can't really expect more than 70-75 runs) and maybe even a half dozen bags to boot. I'll take it from my CI

Well _ I was going to take Sanchez next - but I think what most see is a guy who likely has hit his ceiling already AND tanked the last two years in the second half. That said - he should have no problem providing value at the point that you get him here.
