Mastersball Message Board 12 Team Commentary Snake Draft

#1 Post by deansdaddy » March 2nd, 2012, 11:00 am

Hello everyone. As many longtime subscribers know - every year we try to gather members of the community for a message board draft to gather and work our way through the player pool.

We'd like to do that again this year with one significant change - this year we will play the league out from start to finish :D .

We will run this draft on a thread which will be set up after we fill this up. If you sign up you must be prepared to make a couple of picks a day AND provide a little commentary on each pick.

The goal would be to cover at a minimum about 2 picks a day which will be very easy.

If you are interested in being part of this league please signup below. I'd love to get this filled up over the weekend so we could start posting picks starting next week.

12 Team Message Board Draft

1. Ryan Carey (deansdaddy)
2. Nate Oullette (Allston Rock City)
3. Dan Hayes (Mickey4081)
4. Jason Perkins (southpaw)
5. Mark Bendar (mbendar)
6. Steve Bradley (Steve B)
7. Ryan Struve (whipsaw)
8. Andrew Finkle (rotonut)
9. Steve LeBlanc (Black Sox)
10. Travis Merrick (Trav the Ump)
11. Terry Grant (grant)
12. Paul Evans (pentavarit)

We've had some good drafts in the past and this seems like a logical next step and will also serve as a way to ensure we get at least one subscriber league in the books this year.

The league will be a 12 team Standard Snake draft. We will use the same rules used in the NFBC's Online Championship game which can be found here:

http://nfbc.stats.com/baseball/leagues/ ... _champ.asp

This will serve as a nice warmup for anyone thinking about taking a shot at this $50,000 Online contest.

Sign me up.

You know you play in too many NFBC leagues when even though you call it a 12 team league, you still list 15 draft spots. ;) :D

Thanks Dan - glad to have you aboard.

I wanted to give Platinum Subscribers first crack at this draft/league, but I will likely put it out if plain view after the weekend is past. So grab your spot - we'll have a lot of fun and I may have a few surprises in store for participants down the line.

Aw heck, I'm in. I plan on doing a 3 pack OC so this should be a huge benefit.

Thanks Jason - yeah it will be a nice little prep for the 12 team format. I admit, I've been so locked in on the 15 teamers and the flow is much different with three less teams.

Okay - we are already 1/ of the way full - who else wants in?

Ryan,
What is the expectation of time in between picks? I'm currently in a slow draft and have the draft board that automically refreshes in the background at work to see when I'm up. Can't do that with this forum throughout the weekdays and don't want to hold up a fun time.

I'm in if everyone is flexible with waiting a few hours on the weekdays for me to pick. If that hurts the flow of the draft, I understand and I'll bow out.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark - I will also have the draft tracked on a google spreadsheet for owners to more easily track the draft and make their picks. Would you be able to make picks via email if you can constantly keep track of the draft via the spreadsheet? If you can do that - you can always send me picks via text or email and I can re-post them in the forums. That goes for anyone else who signs up. I will ask everyone for an email/phone number so I can let people know when the are "Up" and "On Deck". They can always email or text me a pick to keep things moving if they can't get to a computer. I will put you down as a possible yes-OK?
