I know what you mean  .
Jim was teeing off from the back tees. On his down-swing, he realized that his wife was about to tee off from the red tees, directly in his path. Unable to stop his swing, he hit Sue directly in the temple, killing her instantly.
A few days later Jim received a call from the coroner concerning her autopsy. "Jim, Sue seems to have died from blunt force trauma to the head. Is it correct you hit a golf ball and struck her in the temple."
Jim replied, "that's correct."
"I also found a large bruise on her right hip. Do you know anything about that?"
"Yes sir," Jim said, "that was my mulligan."

A nice thing about OnRoto is that you can see everyone's bids. There were many discussion about the $1 players prior to the season. Essentially, every FAAB selection was a $1 player who went undrafted. What I have found to be interesting is that in almost all cases, a person was able to get their primary FAAB selection without having to expend more than a few FAAB dollars. This week, only Hawkins went for more than $6. It should be noted the only other bid on Hawkins was for $1. The next highest bid player was Branyon at $6 and that was the only bid made on him.

A note to FAAB bidders. Several times, a contingent bid was for more than the primary bid. This may technically be legal but the results could be not what you want. In fact, it can create an unresolvable situation. FAAB systems resolve the highest bid primary player first. Consider the following three team situation.

Team 1 bids $5 on Smith with a $3 contingency on Jones
Team 2 bids $2 on Jones with no contingencies
Team 3 bids $1 on Jones with a $10 contingency on Smith

The system looks at primary bids and assign Smith to team 1
It then looks at the remaining primary bids and assigns Jones to team 2.
Team 3 gets nobody

This league came very close to this situation two weeks ago. Bottom line is make your contingency bids for an equal or lesser amount.

Thanks for the update! The site isn't all that user friendly. For instance, you cannot edit the bid amount once submitted. However, the system will allow you reorder your selections which helps.

Little help on the abbreviations. I'm assuming dis is DL; rel is release. What's the difference between prr and pur?

I did a cut & paste. "dis" is disable and "rel" is release. Both "prr" and "pur" are purchases but why they are different is only for the gods to know and I ain't no god. Check with Zola.

prr vs. pur

The only thing I can figure is that players can be designated as "Active" or "Reserve" in the drop down box next to the bid amount in Bidmeister. Maybe, these abbreviations make the distinction between types of purchases.
It makes no difference to our league with weekly lineup settings. However, it could make a difference in leagues with disparate rules. They do cater to custom leagues, so it may be a feature required by others.

I don't know, it's just a guess. :|

Dealing Saves

#18 Post by Mickey4081 » May 10th, 2009, 1:25 pm

Looking to deal a closer. I have several, so if you're not actively punting saves, lets hammer out a deal.

I was hoping Skip Schumaker would be a 1 week fill in for Weeks.

It looks like he may get a longer stay on the roster. :D
