Max innings pitched limit

#1 Post by burke »

Hi,
I am commish for a league with the below format. It is a 12 team 5x5 mixed league. We just voted to start having a max innings pitched limit rule starting this season. What is a reasonable number for that in this size league? Thanks.

A team's roster consists of the following players:
1 catchers
1 first baseman
1 second baseman
1 shortstop
1 third baseman
1 first or third baseman (Corner Infielder)
1 second baseman or shortstop (Middle Infielder)
1 utility player (DH or any offensive player)
5 outfielders
9 pitchers (any combination of starters and relievers)
7 Bench Players (any position)
3 Minor League Players (any position)

Weekly or daily moves?

What's the motive for the rule?

IMO you could have a minimum innings pitched (although personally I don't like rules that restrict the owner's right to manage his team as he sees fit)

No reason to have a maximum IP - if someone wants to go all starters why shouldn't they be able to?
