Post subject: Week 6 DST Rankings - let's help Todd with the research

Hall of Famer
Okay I thought it would be better to start a new thread to discuss DST rankings rather than have some not see it if I continued the Week 5 thread. So let's give Todd some more information. I am going to post the rankings from ESPN (only because I don't have our Marc Meltzer's yet) and because they are free. Then I will give you mine with my rationale for the choices. YOUR job is to either rank your top 12 OR just pick one or two that you have rated higher or lower and tell us why.

Okay first the ESPN rankings for Top 14 DST
1) Arizona Cardinals vs Buffalo Bills
2) San Francisco 49ers vs NY Giants
3) Pittsburgh Steelers @ Tennessee Titans (Thurs)
4) Baltimore Ravens vs Dallas Cowboys
5) Houston Texans vs Green Bay Packers
6) Miami Dolphins vs St. Louis Rams
7) Atlanta Falcons vs Oakland Raiders
8) Philadelphia Eagles vs Detroit Lions
9) Minnesota Vikings @ Washington Redskins
10) Seattle Seahawks vs New England Patriots
11) Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Kansas City Chiefs
12) St. Louis Rams @ Miami Dolphins
13) New England Patriots @ Seattle Seahawks
14) Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns

Okay here are my personal rankinngs (which tend to be more heavily matchup based than most but obviously the DST has to be good at something - sacks, interceptions, holding the opponents to fewer points etc)

1) Pittsburgh Steelers - vs Matt Hasselbeck and a poor titans team (even if they are on the road)
2) Arizona Cardinals vs Buffalo Bills (although this has to be the Good Cardinals of the first few weeks vs the Bad Bills of the past two weeks otherwise it might be reversed)
3) Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Brady Quinn and the Chiefs
4) Atlanta Falcons vs Oakland Raiders
5) San Francisco 49ers vs NY Giants
6) Miami Dolphins vs St. Louis Rams (Dolphins so good against the run they will make Bradford throw more than he should)
7) Baltimore Ravens vs Dallas Cowboys
8) Houston Texans vs Green Bay Packers (although there is a good chance last year's Packers might show up and expose the Texans especially with Cushing now out)
9) Philadelphia Eagles vs Detroit Lions
10) New England Patriots @ Seattle Seahawks (yeah I know the Seahawks have the better defense but the Patriots offense is better than what they have faced and the defense is opportunistic and even at home rookie QB Russell Wilson may be in big trouble)
11) St. Louis Rams @ Miami Dolphins - IF the Rams can remember what they did to the Cardinals and Kevin Kold last week facing another rookie QB
12) Minnesota Vikings @ Washington Redskins (If RGIII can't play they move up)
13) Seattle Seahawks vs New England Patriots - Big IF they can stuff the run and let their fast, strong secondary make plays ... Plus they could get enough return chances for Leon Washington to run back his first of the year
14) Buffalo Bills @ Arizona Cardinals (not a widely known fact but the Bills didn't go back home after being throttled by the 49ers, they spent the week in a hotel in the Phoenix area, had one off day and worked plus QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is from the valley and got to see his family and friends ....so with Arizona's troubled offensive line, the Bills DST might be able to tee off)

Notice something about my rankings? (well the bettors might)

Let's see your rankings
