I would really appreciate help getting my CVRC off the ground for my H2H points league. I've never had a need for Excel in the past, but I'm a quick learner. Just need a little advice how to get started. Thanks in advance!

Eric

Half way there -- also need league parameters (size, roster composition).

The only stat not projected is blown save (really can't project CG/NH/PG). I actually project BS, it's just not on the downloads. Maybe I can add it down the line.

HITTING

Download the HITCVRC

HITTERS TAB

in cell Z2, type =L2+M2+N2+O2+1.5*Q2+V2-P2

L2 is total bases, which accounts for the 1B, 2B, 3B and HR points. Hopefully you can pick up the idea behind that formula. Starting with "=" tells excel you're about to enter a formula. You don't have to actually type "L2" etc, you can click in the cell to have it appear, then type the next operation, then the cell etc.

Next step is left-clicking and holding on cell Z2 then dragging down to the end of the data, then releasing. This highlights that column. Now hit CTRL d simultaneously. This fills the formula all the way down.

Let me know you got this far by posting how many points Jose Abreu is projected for, then provide the league parameters and I'll work you through the rest of hitting and pitching.

Next...

Click on the Z - this highlights the entire column

RIGHT-click on the Z, then COPY

Click on the H for Column H (this is the HR column)

RIGHT-click on the H, then Paste Special, then choose VALUES then OK

You've pasted the points into the HR column

Go to the League Set Up page

Put 0 in the box under RBI, SB, BA, R

Change Number of Teams to 10

Change catcher to 10
Change Outfielder to 80

CLICK TO GENERATE VALUES

That's the ranking for your league.
If Arenado is $65 and Donaldson is $61, you're doing it right.

Do you play an auction or draft format?

We play in a draft format. I did get the values you mentioned for Arenado and Donaldson. Thanks!

Doesn't matter -- rankings are derived from auction values.

FYI - my time is going to be real tight so if you want to work through this, please do so ASAP. I can't promise immediate help once the crunch hits. Thanks.

Last question!

Any recommendations on how to edit the pitching sheet?

By edit, do you mean setting up the formula and pasting it into the CVRC?

It's the same process as the hitting, obviously using the correct coefficients and cells. On my laptop now don't have all my material at the ready, so not sure if what you need is projected on the CVRC or if we'll need to jump from the projection sheet to the CVRC. Home Monday, can look then if you can't glean what you need to do from the hitting process.
