W Contreras Replacement

#1 Post by Tbhap »

Hey Everyone
I saw this morning that Contreras may be out for some time. I was looking for a replacement hitter and saw Cargo is on the wire. No brainer right? Other options include C and. D Santana, DeJong, Beckham, Alonso, Crawford. I dont have a DL spot until Thor comes back. Thanks for the advice

if you really thought it was a no-brainer, you wouldn't be asking the question.

Assuming position isn't in the equations, what stats are needed the most? None of the players listed are SB specialists, so will further assume that's not a necessity.

If you have frequent moves, I'd probably use the spot to churn the player with the best matchup for that scoring period. Otherwise, Carlos Santana would be my top option.

Thanks for the reply! A little context would probably help. It is a head to head league so it is hard to pick one category until later into the scoring period. I have enough position flexibility in my roster that position doesn't really matter. I like the idea of rotating hitters and I could do it daily, but it seems daunting. I do it with pitchers with varying success. Can you have success with hitters the same way? For example this morning I picked up E. Hernandez because of his matchup. What are your thoughts? Thanks

If you have time/energy you could do daily. I usually just go by series, or use fantasypros weekly hitting matchups to see what pitchers teams will be facing.

I have no intention to hijack your thread Tbhap, but I thought it would be redundant to start a new thread with the same title.

I had WC in both of my leagues, H2H, one is 8 teams, the other 10. 8 team - R, HR, RBI, SB, OPS. 10 team - same except OPS is split to OBP and SLG.

How would you rank these options going forward? 8 team league has 8 transaction limit per week. 10 team league is unlimited - so maybe rotate based on matchups/hot bat?
