Team & league info in sig.

I've been offered Hamilton & N. Feliz for M. Holliday. I can definitely use the help in saves but I'm not convinced about Hamilton being able to stay on the field & keeping up this pace. The other thing holding me back is that I can protect Holliday for 2 more years but Hamilton is out of option & has to go back into the draft next year.

Forgetting about the keeper implications who do you think is a better option for the rest of 2010?

Put this another way - I'll give you Matt Holliday for Nefatli Feliz and I'll assume we can keep either of these guys for the same amount of time. If that isn't enough, I'll sweeten it and throw Josh Hamilton in as an incentive.

Put that way - do you take the deal? And you can't ignore the keeper implications when half of your post zeros in on that issue. It obviously has an impact on you so you have to consider it.

I'll toss some more questions to ponder...

Can you win the league if you don't make the deal?

If you feel you need to make a deal to win, do you need someone to perform as Holliday would plus saves? That is, will a hitting downgrade cost you more points than you can gain in saves?

Is this the best you can do for Holliday?

I think it is safe to say if Hamilton stays healthy the rest of the season, his production compared to Holliday's is a wash, so you are gaining saves in exchange for the ability to protect Holliday two more seasons.

So the "risk" is if Hamilton stays healthy.

If it is only a 3 OF league then Holliday as keeper is not as big a deal as a 5 OF league. This seems like a no brainer to me. if you need the saves then do it for sure.

Based on the # of hitters you start versus # of pitchers it makes it even more in your favor.
