There is another reason for bringing up a stud player and that is that the outcome on the player guides the direction of the auction. I'm not sure, Steve ... let's say you have a 12 team auction ... if Braun is available, can you envision any set of circumstances where his name is not one of the first 12 nominated? So, if I understand correctly, the primary reason for doing projections this early is for leagues whose draft auction dates primarily occur before March 1? From what was posted, I see that there are some prestigious leagues who start very early. Is there any particular reason why this is so for anyo...

Bottom line? The Nats have an aging owner that wants to win and doesn't give a rat's ass about sample size, all he knows is his closer cost him the playoffs and he wipes his butt with twenties so the money is no problem. First, define "off season". We are a 4x4 keeper auction around since the mid '80's. Our off season is really defined as the time the last pitch is thrown in a regular season game until approximately the time all owners have said they are going to return for the next season. At that time, w...

I am a huge advocate of shortening games. i think it's a great concept. I was even very much for it when Soriano was traded to Atlanta from Seattle.
