Kikuchi mechanics and new pitch
I've had Kikuchi sitting on my bench after his first 2 starts in my 12 team AL only 5x5 H2H keeper league. Threw a gem last time out against the hot hitting Yankees. He's scrapped his cutter for a harder slider and changed his mechanics with less of a leg kick as well as shifting the target behind h...

Got it. In a sense I was looking at that from the standpoint of which of the 2 SP would have the least negative impact on ratios. How many teams in your league? If your league uses playoffs I'd certainly consider lowering your 1100 min IP. For comparison our 12 team AL only league had been using 900 IP min by the start of our playoffs (~Sep 1) until 2 years ago when two teams didn't qualify. We then lowered them to 800 IP. Tha...

From what I've been seeing more teams are paying up for elite SP. That makes those handful of SP who go 7+ innings more valuable. On the other han...

Re: Moore shopping Wil Myers
FWIW....Royals fans posting on the KCStar article http://www.kansascity.com/2012/12/10/39 ... -from.html are unhappy with this trade. Initially it was outrage but recent posters have been more positive. Guess they drank too much Moore's koolaid.

Re: Moore shopping Wil Myers
Perry, read that rumored story as well. IMO last year screams "career year". Plus he's only under contract for one more year anyway. I personally would not trade Myers for a 38 year-old SP whose only out pitch is a knuckleball that those who throw it don't know where it's going most of the...

Right now, Myers is probably at maximum value - because he's purely speculative. Too many can't misses missed (Pie , Corey Patterson, Loewen, Rowell, Andy Marte, Lars Anderson, Drabek ...you get the point). I don't want Lester at any discount right now. Sheilds? Maybe ...but I think there's better ...

1) agree with you 1000%. And KC got a huge sweetheart long term deal signed with him. There are a number of teams who'd rather have him than Myers. 2) Duffy and Paulino also had TJ surgery, although Paulino came over in a trade. Nonetheless he tore the ligament under KC's watch. Moore also knew that...

Yes, there is always that risk that Myers could be a Wood, circa 2005. Perry, saw your post on Bob Dutton's story in the KCStar about Moore shopping Wil Myers. Why are you against trading for Shields or Lester? Is it because they can be controlled for only 2 years vs 6 years of Myers? Not saying I am for trading Myers for either one but wanted to hear your arguments. I...

I agree with Perry on Cain/Meyers positions. I live in KC and that is what I'm hearing. Media is putting a ton of pressure on Glass, Moore and Yost. They and the fans are tired of the "we are a small market and can't afford the payroll". It's falling on deaf ears after what Oakland, Minnes...

See signature for roster. Have a bye this week and will play the lowest seed of the 3-6 seeds next week. Lost McCarthy for the season and Cobb will likely be given extra days off so will probably lose a start over the next 2 weeks. Two of the teams battling this week have 7 SP, another 5 and the 4th...

Rangers called up Jurickson Profar (ss) today. While he won't provide much if any help this year, what are his prospects for starting the year in the majors in 2013? Randy, I'm assuming you are aware that Joey Bats is having surgery on his wrist. Wrist surgeries can be tricky buggers that can zap a guy of his power. I could see going after Thames if you could find the courage to just look at last season. But if you look at any part of his 2012 season, you should run far away from him ..especially in Safeco. Soto as he has more pop but he comes with a disclaimer......he's become injury prone. His new park will give him a boost in power. Kottaras should end up with more ABs but his counting numbers will be hampered in Oakland plus their anemic offense.
