It's a jumping off point for negotiations ... he's aiming just a WEE bit high, but you can't blame him. I'd say Peavy OR Reyes ...but not both unless he boosts the quality of the supporting players in the deal. Kouz is ok, but Church? And Harden's a crap shoot. If it were me, as I noted earlier, I bet Crawford comes at a discount and can be had for the $42 Sizemore salary or less. In that scenario, how much of a discount would you have to get Crawford at? just curious dbk, why do you think they move Joba, the proven starter, to the pen and let Hughes start? I do believe the Yankees just did themselves a big favor today by signing Andy Petttite. To me, this means Joba goes back to the pen. It 's the perfect excuse to put him back there and let Hughes be the fifth starter. Where do you see Joba falling in as a reliever if this happens, Bod?

Ok ... first of all, a jump for 4 to 31 HR over a single season is Brady Anderson-esque. I don't think any methodology could come close to predicting such a leap. J.P. - a question - the age 25 year you have here is a projection for what he will do in the 2009 season or has this year already taken place and these are the numbers this player put up in 2008? I ask because the HR number looks very much out of proportion.
