Re: MB'09 Justin Duchscherer

The A's are now talking about him pitching in relief as they seem to believe he won't be able to hold up as a starter over the course of a full season. If one were still interested in him maybe value him as a MR. As for me I've pretty much discounted him to the $1 bin at the end of the auction. Let ...

I don't believe he is the odd man out -- the more I think about it, the more I think it will be Span or Gomez. Todd, so you believe Cuddyer has his old gig back despite missing most of last year and the year Span had? I know I read about a month or so back where Gardenhire was quoted as saying he h...

I think the question you need to ask is not what pitchers you rate higher then Baker but what pitchers most people will rank higher then Baker. Would love to see a list of the other notable pitchers available to make a better decision. More than happy to oblige. Here are the available starters in o...

Re: Which way to turn?

Update.....we had our expansion draft for our new owner. I lost Choo. We submit our final list on March 19th. I can add one to the following protected list.... Kinsler $13, A. Ramirez $1, Markakis $15, Longoria $19 and James Shields sign to a 1 or 2 yr contract at $12 or $17. Here are the candidates...

With Duch now experiencing elbow pain and likely missing his opening day start he is best left off any further consideration. Someone to keep an eye on and even consider for your 6th spot is Baker. I'm currently debating over him for $6, Devine at $3 and Youkilis $17 for my 6th spot in my AL only ke...

Latest from Rotoworld says Cashman hopes ARod can play through the injury. Here's a link that Rotoworld referenced: http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2009/03/05/no-surgery-for-a-rod/ If he tries to play through the injury......and from what I've read and ARod's own response.....his power will be compromise...

......in practical terms, what mostly happens in keeper auctions is the top-end talent costs even more than the inflation-corrected price. WBC and pitchers

How do you feel about MLB pitchers pitching in the WBC? Would you protect/draft a pitcher who participates? How much would you knock down his value? Personally from a fantasy and even real life position I dread it. IMO the risks of injury outweigh the benefits of competition. I think we all agree th...

Re: MB'09 Justin Duchscherer

I think making a call on a pitcher who had off season hip surgery prior to seeing him work in spring training is not wise. I'd put off calling him anything until mid way through March. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to put off the decision if they have early drafts or keeper lists, or perhaps ...

If it were me, as I noted earlier, I bet Crawford comes at a discount and can be had for the $42 Sizemore salary or less. In that scenario, how much of a discount would you have to get Crawford at? Also, how much does his significantly reduced SB totals from last year play into this number? If you ...

I suspect you've already answered your own question and will keep: Longoria, Kinsler, Ramirez, Markakis and Shields. 12 team 5x5 AL only keeper league. Max 6 protect. Adding a new owner (we only had 11 last year) so we are having an expansion draft whereby each owner protects 5 players and the new owner can select a max of one player from a team, ending up with 6. So here's my dilemma. I just traded a $1 Crisp for...

My projection? .280/.335/.540 with 32 homers and at least 100 RBI.
