As for creating values - just do this in excel figure out the player pool: 8 teams X 2 catcher - 16 catchers 8 teams X 3 corner infielders - 24 CI 8 teams X 3 Middle infielders - 24 MI etc once you figure out the player pool - takethe normal mastersball projections and sort in descnding value by AL ...

definitely need to take those 4 Middle infielders into account. add 12-15% to your current budget - especially to shortstops as 2B is a little deeper (maybe add 15% to SS and 13% to 2B)

I also love the fact that you reminded me it's only 9 teams. I always think it's going to be deeper than it turn out to be and a handful of decent players go for $2-3 at the end.

Those are the guys I love to end up with cause if they have a decent season I can keep them forever at that price.

just use excel to modify mastersball projections by creating a formula. I could help you if you are not real familiar with excel it's pretty easy to create a formula that will do all the computation for you. Then toss in an ADP from a board like mock draft central and sort by total points projected....

Being competitive in sb's probably would not cost you much.

the only way this sometimes can hurt you is if you get a guy who value is based solely on his SB (like juan pierre) his OPS and lack of doubles and that type of stuff can hurt your team by not providing offensive support.

my opinion on the one idea you mentioned - you mentioned that in the late game you like to pickup wiley veterans with a starting spot to fill in for your oft-injured players.
