You know your league best. What makes sense on paper doesn't always manifest, but still, go with what leaves you the most comfortable.

I'd look for another SP2 for next season - Canning hasn't been able to stay healthy.
You know what Cabrera and Votto are - if that's good enough to compete, may as well play it safe. If you need more, Lowe is a risk/reward type as Texas has other options.

Re: Building a pitching staff
Depending how I addressed saves, I may stash a speculative closer, but in a 12-team league, I do my best to have seven starters every week. It takes some planning, and being willing to occasionally drop a seemingly decent starter, but I consider the free agent inventory as my eighth reserve. In fact...

Those are projected earnings in a vacuum. The ratio protection relievers afford balances points lost in wins and strikeouts. The problem is conventional valuation assumes everyone with a positive number is active all season - and in most leagues, this isn't the case. Pitchers are streamed into the l...

Auction prices will do that. You need to spend up top -- playing the middle game is risky. Someone will always have some funds left to drive up those prices too.
For a first time, this looks fine. Looks like you adjusted to the prices. Saves are short, but you know that.

Honestly, the ideal size is what everyone in the league enjoys the most. As they say, if it ain't broke... I guess I favor the standard 14 H, 9 P setup. In deeper leagues, I like using only 4 OF and making the spot UT/P, but not every commissioner service can handle that. If it's a new league, I don...

I play Strat and Scoresheet but not Diamond Mind. Does defense matter? Are splits a factor? What one or two metrics do you feel are best to evaluate?
For instance, in Scoresheet, defense is a factor, I use OBP for hitters and WHIP for pitchers and splits matter a lot.

Re: Todd Zola Pitching Projections
Please ask a specific question. Sixto Sanchez is there. Are you asking about his projection? If you can't see him, please use CTRL F to search, thanks.

Re: Todd Zola Pitching Projections
You should adjust playing time how you see fit - that said, it's essentially the two feed into each other. At Price's age and injury history, I don't see the Dodgers forcing a high workload on Price, especially since they're deep enough to cover the missed or shorter starts. The files are now updated.

Bauer's various xERAs over the past few seasons suggest to me he's more of a 3.30 - 3.80 ERA guy.

Welcome! FWIW, moving Gallen and Woodruff emanated from reviewing projections - not really a decision. Re: Bauer... Lots going on here. First, he's a free agent so his projection is park and team neutral. He could move up or down, depending here signs. That said, for perspective, if he stays with th...

I'll open with I'm not worried about Robert. You notice the slump because it ended the season. In a full year, he would have rebounded, then slumped again, etc. The main issue seems to be coverage up the middle. Dealing Albies and potentially dropping Cronenworth moves Lux up, but it's not a sure th...

Gibson seems safest (Sea). Normally would be Minor, but the early schedule is iffy. That said, if things are OK, Minor could also draw the Mariners. Dealing Smith depends on the specifics of your league -- but as an example in MWStrat I'll always deal a reliever since they're accessible in the draft, or others are looking to deal them (see a certain team with Jensen and Rogers, both acquired via a trade).

Considering teams are limiting innings when pitchers return from the IL, especially COVID, probably best to find healthy arms, better able to at least be in play for a win. Your team, your call.

Re: Activating Kela who to drop? 12 team h2h
In a head to head league his shallow, the best approach is treating the back end of the pitching as fungible and matching up to your next opponent. That is, drop whoever is necessary to add what you need to match up best or drop who leaves you with the best matchups, then worry about next week when ...

We don't have your roster and those of everyone in your league - and this is not a prompt to share them. It's a decision only you can make. We can share opinions on some of the players in a vacuum if you need help in that direction, but the choice is based on how it can help in the standings.

Re: Need thoughts on Trout-Bellinger blockbuster
Trades aren't about the names, no matter how glamorous. They aren't about the perceived value. Trades are all about your potential to score points. How many (if any) points might you lose with Bellinger? How many, if any, do you gain with Corbin and Yates? That's the measuring stick.

First off, wRC+ isn't a particularly good measure for roto. It's park neutral, which may indicate better pure skills, but the numbers players are affected by their park. In addition, it doesn't account for stolen bases. Hernandez, Swanson and Ohtani, if he's essentially the full time DH are the thre...

To be honest, McKay shouldn't be in a roster in a league this shallow so easy drop.
In a season like this, it's best to drop someone like Kluber. Can't hold and hope you need him.
Pretty good chance Cardinals and Tigers miss games this week so make sure you're covered there.

In H2H, I think you have no choice but to take the L and hope to make it up when he doubleheaders start to kick in. The Phillies have 7 games next week while Miami has six so you should be back at full strength.
