Re: NFBC DC Express

Looks pretty solid to me. Maybe a little light on steals? If Capps wins the closer gig you have 3 closers and maybe more, plus a solid core of starters on top of that.

Re: Corey Dickerson

Interesting, thanks for that info! So it's safe to say you wouldn't have any qualms taking him in round 7/8 over other outfielders like Pence, Peralta, Calhoun etc?

Corey Dickerson

Just wondering how much of a hit Dickerson will sustain when the updated projections come out? He's still on the board in my latest draft in round 7 and I need some power from my OF but am afraid the Trop may suppress him quite a bit.

Link for Standard Start

Just a heads up that the link for the updated Standard Start is not working. It says file not found when I click on it.

NFBC Round 20

Looking to add a hitter with my 20th pick. I have my 2nd catcher, CI, and Utility spots to fill. Batting average is not of concern as I currently project to be pretty low there. Here are my options C: Salty, Ianetta, Rivera, Ruiz, Chirinos, Vogt(eventually) CI: Teixeira, Lind, Loney, Morales, Plouff...

Re: NFBC Draft Champions Advice

Yeah, sorry, I didn't necessarily mean I was going to take them with the next pick. Laroche is gone btw. I should be able to wait a few rounds on most of those guys. Ramos is the best catcher left, still have Phillips/Cabrera/Escobar/Aybar/Gyorko at the MI spot, Jackson/Crawford/KDavis/Cuddyer/Hunte...

NFBC Draft Champions Advice

Just looking for some 2nd opinions. We are currently starting round 13. So far my team looks like this: C: Gomes CI: Davis MI: Desmond, Zobrist OF: Jones, Cespedes, L Martin SP: Strasburg, Iwakuma, Lee CL: Storen, Uehara My question is who do you like as my other corner infielder? I could go with ei...

Boston Bullpen

Im currently in round 33 of a NFBC Draft Champions league and have Uehara as one of my closers. I want to lock up the next couple in line for saves but with the Ogando signing and the talk of possibly trading Mujica I'm not really sure which ones to get. Any ideas or thoughts on who to take. Mujica?...

Re: More Keeper League Advice

Sorry Captain, I should've been more specific in regards to my players. The Fernandez is Jose from the Marlins and the Soriano is Rafael, closer for the Nats. The Martin is Leonys from Texas.

Re: Keeper thoughts!!! Got caught off guard - deadline tonight!!

5 that jump out as no brainers to me at first glance are Rosenthal, Cingrani, Chapman, Bailey and Carpenter. That would take care of your closers and give you 2 solid starting pitchers. Other than those 5 and without knowing the dynamics of your league, I might go with Ramirez and Choo and keep one ...

Re: Keeper Help

I see where Perry's coming from in regards to Beltre over Fielder but you were talking about Ellsbury's big caveat being injury risk and I would say I have the same concerns for Beltre much more than I do for Fielder.

More Keeper League Advice

I play in a typical 5x5 keeper league. One of the few differences is that we use 2 utility and 1 catcher. According to rules, a player can be kept in year 2 at the same price as year 1, then after that they must be resigned for up to 5 years at $5 per. We can keep up to 10 players. My roster of keep...

Re: NFBC DC # 4 bench advice

Was able to grab Ruggiano and Gonzalez. That gives me viable backup coverage at all positions in Mercer, Davidson, Ruggiano and Ellis with Loney, Infante and Parra as my MI, CI and UT. I probably need to take another OF or 2 for depth and pound some starting pitching. I'm tempted to take a chance on...

Re: NFBC DC # 4 bench advice

I went with Santiago in the 26th. That completes my 23 starting positions. Now, I need to build up some starting pitching depth, get a potential closer or 2 and find a couple outfield bench bats. Closer wise, names like Qualls, Lindstrom, Strop, Black, Oday, Krod, Burton, Gregerson, Ziegler and Clip...

Re: NFBC DC # 4 bench advice

I ended up taking Ellis in the 24th and Davidson in the 25th. The guy who picked next after I chose Davidson was upset b/c Davidson was gonna be his pick. I guess I lucked out on that one. Otherwise, it would've been Uribe. Allen and Melancon have been picked so I'll have to look elsewhere for poten...

Re: NFBC DC # 4 bench advice

Thanks for the thoughts Perry. The Allen is in fact Cody. Pinto is gone so I will take Ellis this round and will probably look at one of the relievers and a starter the next 2.

NFBC DC # 4 bench advice

I'm into the 24th round of my latest DC draft and I must say it is excruciatingly slow. There are 4 picks before my pick in the 24th round and it will probably take several hours before I'm up so I thought I'd ask for some opinions as I start to fill out my bench. First, I'll post my team and tell y...

Re: The Fabulous World of FAAB

Here's a quick question on FAAB, will we be able to see how much $ our opponents have left each week on the site or will we need to track that ourselves? I noticed on Ryan's faab worksheet (thanks for that by the way) he had a place to keep track of everyone's $. I did my own worksheet a couple days...

Re: Rookie Chat: Rules and Draft Procedures - THURS 12 NOON ET

Perry, I know a lot depends on how the draft goes and all, but assuming it goes pretty much according to plan, when are you taking that first saves guy?

Re: Rookie Chat: Rules and Draft Procedures - THURS 12 NOON ET

This may be a topic for another discussion, but since there has been some talk about roster composition, which would you think is better to do, start with one of the better closers or go with an anchor starter? I've always been one of the guys who went dirt cheap on closers in my draft/auction and w...

Re: Rookie Chat: Rules and Draft Procedures - THURS 12 NOON ET

In looking over the rules, the 2 most obvious discussion points for me would be what to do with KDS and also how to attack the new Friday offensive substitution rule. Since we have already started KDS, I'll focus more on the substitution rule. How do you think this will affect the makeup of your ben...
